Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born 18 November 1985 in Los Angeles. She was the daughter of Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix showed a flair for sports early, and discovered her ability to sprint while she was at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Ten weeks after the first trial she took the sport, she finished 2nd in the 200m race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix completed her high school graduation signing a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas before enrolling in the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. Felix was presented with her first Olympic medal at the 2004's Summer Olympics In Athens Greece. Felix ran 200 meters in 22.18s which set an all-time junior world record. She was the youngest winner of the 200 meter during the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005. She was able to defend her record the following year, by beating time-tested Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor at Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro, as well as Tokyo. She was consistently in the top three of every event.
