Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was born at Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister of Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was aware that she had a talent in running while attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Following her initial audition she was ranked in the top two at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 200 meters in just 10 weeks. Felix graduated from her high school year in 2003 and was signed by Adidas a contract as an athlete in professional competition. In the following year, she was a student at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic award at 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece. Felix ran 200m in 22.18s, setting the new world junior record. Felix became the world's youngest athlete to win the 200 meters at the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in her first Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo always finishing in the top three places in all her competitions.
